Lazy duck bums. After nap time,
caviar and peeled grapes will be
served on a silver platter. Ah, to
be owned by ducks!
Luci loves being wrapped
in his towel. They have us
trained well.

Vicky took these fabulous pictures
of her horses! Being owned by a
horse is yet another experience.
If they can't train you, they'll keep
you around as a pet. They have to
have something to laugh at every
once in a purple sky!
We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our bird family,
Gabriel, aka, Gabby Goose!
Gabby is a two week old Toulouse and it appears that we are already spoiled beyond
rotten.
We don't know if Gabby is a he or a she, but stay tuned...we'll figure it out eventually!
Twiggy is keeping Gabby company until they are big enough to live outside! As
ducks and geese are flock animals, I am against forcing them to imprint on humans.
Bonding is an entirely different thing from imprinting. Imprinting is unfair to the
birds and selfish of their human mommies! Always get two or more ducks or geese at
once. Before you adopt any animal, do your research and know all you can about
them FIRST.
We are still going to adopt another goose, but at least Gabby has Twiggy until then.
AND, introducing, Twiggy...another little duck baby!
Twiggy is about two weeks old and is a rouen mix.
Twiggy follows Gabby everywhere, and does whatever
Gabby does... and is also immitating Gabby's "spoiled"
attitude!
Hi! My name is Truffles!

Gabby and Truffles.
Truffles is about 3 weeks old, now.
Twiggy at about 6 weeks old.
I'm guessing that Twiggy is a
girl, but it's still too soon to tell...
Look how much I've grown!
Gabby Goose at about 6 weeks old.
For my fellow friends in fowlness---below are pictures of the duck house and recently expanded day pen area.  A lot of research must go into the building of a
PREDATOR PROOF house and pen along with taking the advice of experienced duck owners.  You need at least two layers of fencing which should extend at least
two feet into the ground, and then a layer of fencing over the top to keep out hawks and owls. A roof for shade and a tub for swimming should be included.  And
DAILY cleaning to avoid illness  (and odor.)  Ceddar works great for minimizing bugs and a daily supply of treats in the form of lettuce (not iceberg, but romaine) and
peas would be in order. Don't forget the treats.  Did I mention treats? And lots of treats.
I am in the process of building a rock wall around the perimeter
of the pen for added protection.  Both ducks and geese seem to
enjoy watching me do this...
Gabby and Twiggy at about 9 weeks old.
Twiggy is definitely a girl!
Truffles at about 6 weeks old.
